Mary and Johnny’s Truly Excellent Teaching Case Page
This page is prepared by Mary E. Lovely, Professor of Economics at Syracuse University and John M. Yinger, Trustee Professor of Public Administration and Economics at Syracuse University.
We have been writing cases for use in our classes for many years. This web page provides links to cases we have written, or cases written under our supervision. Anyone is welcome to use these cases in their teaching. Because these cases were written solely for teaching purposes, they should not be quoted or used for any other reason. We welcome your comments.
The cases on this page were written for an introductory undergraduate class on critical issues for the United States. They are designed to provide background and to stimulate discussion on domestic social issues of national importance. The cases support teaching in three broad topic areas: citizenship, public education, and economic inequality. Many of the cases can be used to address aspects of all three of these policy areas.
The cases on this page were written for master’s student in public administration. They provide background and key analytical issues on a wide range of policy topics under two general headings: state and local public finance and urban policy.
